Micronutrient deficiencies are of growing public health concern. An understanding of how micronutrient deficiencies impact on health and measures that can be taken to improve micronutrient status are essential in order to improve population health. The main purpose of this conference is to provide an overview of current issues in relation to micronutrient status at various stages of the lifecycle. Novel biomarkers of nutrient status, global strategies to improve micronutrient status and implications for policy will also be highlighted. Invited national and international experts will provide a perspective on micronutrients during this two and a half day conference.

The overall aim of this two and a half day conference is to provide delegates with an overview on current nutritional issues relating to micronutrients, strategies to address these issues and implications for nutrition policy.
