The gap between healthspan and lifespan, the challenges of an ageing population, and the pressing need for a sustainable future, make advances in nutritional science more critical than ever.
Join us for the Society’s annual flagship conference. The conference is an opportunity to network and collaborate with colleagues whilst getting a dose of the latest emerging research across the full spectrum of nutrition science. Take away key learnings on the advancements in the field that will shape the health and wellbeing of future generations.
Topics at the conference:
- Epigenetics
- Gut microbiome
- Menopause
- Planetary health
- Life course nutrition
- Food security
- Food processing and reformulation
The conference will highlight the latest research aimed at bridging the gap between the healthspan and lifespan, including the role of diet and epigenetics, the gut microbiome, and the menopause, and innovative strategies to address the challenge of extending healthy lifespans.
Delve deeper into gut health with sessions on in vitro modelling of gut digestion and fermentation. Focussing on the “INFOGEST” gastrointestinal model, we will learn how this protocol may be applied specifically to research questions on micronutrients, complex food structures and digestion in older adults.
The programme will then steer towards the life course and sustainability. The programme will cover dietary components across the life course and delegates will hear about advances in dairy by-product valorisation and the dual role this may play in both human and planetary health.
Looking ahead at nourishing future populations, the two-day packed programme will conclude by examining food reformulation and plant-based meat alternatives..
A celebration of excellence
Unique to the Nutrition Society Conference, you will witness the presenting of some of the Society’s prestigious awards, including the BJN Paper of the Year and the Silver Medal, alongside cutting edge research from our prize-winning early career researchers.
Abstract submissions
The call for abstracts is now open. Why submit? Every accepted author attending a Nutrition Society conference will have the opportunity to present their research to a distinguished audience, either as a 7-minute poster presentation or a 15-minute oral presentation.
