The Ambassador Programme
Ambassadors and Student Ambassadors
The Ambassador Programme is there to create a link between universities, students, and the Society. It seeks to foster links with universities and spread the word about our work, our membership, range of activities, science, training, and events. All Ambassadors need to be Society Members. The Ambassador programme is managed by the Membership Team.
"Since becoming a Student University Ambassador I am more informed about the events and opportunities the Society offers. I enjoy talking with students and staff about the programmes and events that the Society offers. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending people get involved"
Julia Haarhuis, PhD student and Student University Ambassador, University of East Anglia and The Quadrum Institute Bioscience
Sections
One of our is to support and develop our student members through their university years, as they graduate and then as they begin and further their careers. The Student Section helps us achieve this by acting as the voice of students and helping organise and event and resources students will like such as online activities, events and careers resources.
The Irish and Scottish Sections are there to support the professional interests and development of Society members in those countries. They both hold yearly conferences as a means of achieving this whilst also promoting professional development, collaboration and networking.
Advisory Council
The Advisory Council supports the Board of Trustees in its decision-making processes. Their role is to bring the views and opinions of the membership to the attention of the Trustees and to stimulate discussion by acting as the members’ voice in higher level and strategic matters that affect them.
Trustees
The Society is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the Society's members. Trustees are elected for a three-year term..
The Trustees are headed by the Society's President and perform a very important role in guiding and shaping the strategic direction and work of the Society and thereby helping to define the way nutrition science is presented and disseminated.
Theme Leaders
Each Theme is led by a Theme Leader who acts as a direct link between the membership and the Science Committee. They liaise with and represent the professional and scientific interests of Nutrition Society members. The Special Interest Groups also come under the respective Theme Leaders. For more information on the Themes please see the About Us Section.
